Happy Autumn! While we still have some significantly high temperature days, it does feel as if summer has lost some of its grip on Las Cruces – and I celebrate that fact. Hiking is back on the agenda as are day trips. The day trips are due to the fact that I had two successful cataract surgeries over the past several weeks. What a pleasure to be able to see to be able to drive safely again. I had decided on a self-imposed 10 mile driving limit until my vision was corrected. I am so very grateful for surgeon’s steady hands and your prayers. And I appreciate my sister, Celeste, who was here to help me through both events.
There are many things going on at First Christian Church as reflected in this newsletter. We celebrate the fact that we received four new members on September 8. You can get to know them a bit better by reading their bios in this newsletter. Better yet, have a chat with them on a Sunday morning.
Your Search Committee has been hard at work discerning the right pastor for this unique congregation. Please keep them and this work in your prayers. They sure do appreciate your on-going support.
