Rev. Sue Stefford Grey and Rev. Donna Cavedon attended the Lights for Liberty rally in El Paso on Friday, July 12. The focus of this gathering of 300 or so at the International Bridge was in protest of children being held in detention whose families are seeking asylum.
From the International Bridge we marched to Cleveland Park to hear music, listen to speeches and meet a variety of people including the very young, and very old. There were people who traveled from a variety of northern states to be in El Paso specifically for this event. There were clergy from several denominations also present.
