It’s hard to believe that the year is half over. It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were meeting as a congregation to tackle difficult issues of budgeting and staffing. Since that time our membership has grown and our finances have shown to be more robust than we expected. When the search committee started meeting and reviewed the Congregational Profile they discovered the organization captured and described in the document has changed in several significant ways. As a result, the first task of the search committee has been to revise the congregational profile in order to reflect these changes. The document is nearly ready to submit to the UCC and DOC regional offices. The final document will be available for all to see. The Board has been looking at the Bylaws and is nearly ready to propose a set of revisions that we think position us to respond to the needs of the organization in a more efficient manner. When last we met as a congregation, we approved a six-month budget. Therefore, we will hold a congregational meeting on Sunday, July 21 for the purpose of approving a budget for the last half of the year and to consider adopting revised Bylaws for operation of the church. See you then if not before.
