The Sunday morning Adult Conversations is taking a break until September 9. The group concluded its conversation of Becoming Wise: An Inquiry into the Mystery and Art of Living by Krista Tippett. Each chapter provided interesting insights by Tippett as well as the hundreds of people she interviewed.
The book selection for the September gathering is Richard Rohr’s book, Falling Upward. Read reviews below:
Understanding the spiritual aspects of aging is as important as appreciating the systems and biological processes that age us. Richard Rohr has given us a perfect guide to what he calls the ‘further journey,’ a voyage into the mystery and beauty of healthy spiritual maturity.
Mehmet Oz, M.D., host of The Dr Oz Show
In Falling Upward, Richard offers a simple but deeply helpful framework for seeing the whole spiritual life — one that will help both the beginners on the path as they look ahead and long-term pilgrims as they look back over their journey so far.
Brian McLaren, author of A New Kind of Christianity and Naked Spirituality
Each participant is responsible for the purchase of their own book. Adult Conversations meets Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the church parlor.
