Job Title: AV Technical Specialist & Live Streaming Coordinator

Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and technically skilled AV Technical Specialist to manage all aspects of our church’s audio-visual, streaming, and presentation systems. This role is central to ensuring smooth, high-quality worship services, livestreams, and community events. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can master our existing setup, quickly troubleshoot issues as they arise, and help evolve the system over time. This is a hands-on position that combines routine technical operations with creative thinking and event coordination.

Core Responsibilities

System Operation & Worship Services (Primary Weekly Focus)

• Prepare and finalize worship slides by 9am on Sundays: copy/paste content from Google Docs (prayers, lyrics, copyright info), split across multiple slides for readability, and insert audio, video, or image assets.
• Set up and test all equipment before services: connect cables, power on sound system/lights/monitors, verify microphone levels, camera feeds in OBS, and slide visibility on TVs.
• Manage live production during services: advance slides in sync with the service, switch camera angles and slide views in OBS, monitor and adjust audio levels, manage muting/unmuting to prevent feedback, and handle occasional Zoom/Facebook chat monitoring.
• Start and manage simultaneous Facebook livestream and Zoom meeting, including proper streaming keys and virtual camera output.
• Post-service: perform light video editing (trimming) in DaVinci Resolve and upload to YouTube.

System Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Learn and expertly operate the current AV ecosystem.
• Diagnose and resolve semi-frequent glitches, including internet outages, camera feed issues, audio problems, interference, battery replacements, and software inconsistencies.
• Perform system, software, and firmware updates while managing downstream effects on the overall setup.
• Conduct regular testing and preventive maintenance on all components.

Equipment & Technology Management The role requires full ownership of a multi-component system that includes:

• Sound: Wireless & wired microphones, speakers, mixers (small front board + large cabinet mixer), Presonus AudioBox, VoiceMeeter Potato routing.
• Video: PTZOptics cameras (Ethernet), OBS streaming, Zoom, Facebook Live, PowerPoint presentations, DaVinci Resolve editing.
• Computing: Windows 11 computer supporting streaming, conferencing, and editing workflows.

You may recommend and implement improvements or swaps to any component as long as core functions are maintained or enhanced.

Event Support & Coordination

• Provide technical support for external renters, funerals, memorial services, special services (e.g., Christmas Eve), Indivisible meetings, movie nights, fundraisers, and performances.
• Coordinate scheduling, setup, operation, and breakdown for events (complexity varies from light support to full worship-level production).
• Film events when requested and deliver large video files to clients through appropriate methods.
• Create recurring/one-off Zoom meetings and Facebook streaming events.
• Update links and technical information on the church WordPress site as needed.

Additional Duties

• Creative problem-solving to adapt and improve the system as needs evolve.
• Maintain organized cables, equipment, and documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, and external users.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience with live audio, video, and streaming systems.
• Proficiency or quick ability to master: OBS, PowerPoint, DaVinci Resolve, Zoom, VoiceMeeter Potato, PTZOptics cameras, Windows 11, and general audio routing/mixing.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills under time pressure.
• High attention to detail, especially with slide content, copyright information, and technical quality.
• Ability to remain calm and multitask during live events.
• Good interpersonal skills for coordinating with staff, volunteers, and renters.
• Reliable transportation and ability to be on-site Sunday mornings plus occasional evenings/weekends for events.
• Comfort working independently and taking ownership of the technical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in church/tech, live event production, or streaming.
• Familiarity with PTZ cameras, multi-mixer audio setups, and OBS advanced features.
• Basic video editing and WordPress skills.
• Interest in continuously improving systems and workflows.
